- What it calculates
- What you are owed on leaving: pro-rata CTS, pro-rata bonus, holiday and dismissal compensation.
- Formula used
Pro-rata bonus = (salary + allowance) × (months ÷ 6 + days ÷ 180), plus 9%- Example

Peru severance settlement calculator
Leaving a job in Peru is not just the last salary: the proportional parts of the CTS fund and the statutory bonus are still owed, along with untaken holiday and, if the dismissal was unfair, compensation.
Enter both dates and each line is shown separately.
How it works
Every benefit counts from the start of its own period to the leaving date, not from the day you joined.
The pro-rata bonus runs from 1 January or 1 July; the pro-rata CTS from 1 May or 1 November. Holiday is paid for the days never taken. Compensation only appears if you mark unfair dismissal.
Formula
Pro-rata bonus = (salary + allowance) × (months ÷ 6 + days ÷ 180), plus 9%
Pro-rata CTS = (salary + allowance + bonus ÷ 6) × (months ÷ 12 + days ÷ 360)
Holiday = (salary + allowance) ÷ 30 × days owed
Compensation = 1.5 salaries per year, capped at 12
Worked example
A salary of S/ 3,000, from 1 March 2024 to 20 September 2026, resignation, 15 holiday days owed:
Pro-rata bonus (2 months 19 days since July): S/ 1,316.67 + 9% = S/ 1,435.17
Pro-rata CTS (4 months 19 days since May): S/ 1,351.39
Untaken holiday: S/ 1,500.00
Total: S/ 4,286.56
Explanation
"Pro-rata" means exactly that: the benefit is paid for the share of the period actually worked. Each benefit has its own period, which is what trips people up. Leaving in September, the pro-rata bonus counts from July -three months- while the pro-rata CTS counts from May -five months-, even though both are paid on the same day.
Unfair dismissal compensation is one and a half salaries per completed year of service, capped at twelve salaries. It does not apply on resignation, at the end of a fixed-term contract, or where a just cause has been proven, nor during the three-month probation period.
The settlement must be paid within 48 hours of leaving; after that, statutory interest accrues.
This calculation leaves out company-specific items -profit share, bonuses, variable commissions, travel allowances- and any income tax due on the taxable lines.
Frequently asked questions
Do I get compensation if I resign?
No. Compensation is only for unfair dismissal. On resigning you still get the pro-rata amounts and the holiday owed.
How long does payment take?
The law allows 48 hours from the leaving date. After that, statutory interest accrues and it is a punishable offence.
Is the pension deduction taken?
The pro-rata bonus and the CTS carry no pension deduction. Holiday pay does, because it counts as ordinary pay.
